Things have been fairly quiet at Making and Baking Hq recently as I have been busy with other things, so crafting has taken a little bit of a back seat. Although I have still been making things,(mainly to keep me sane!) I have not really taken many photos of what I have done.
It’s lovely to see that Spring is finally on it’s way, the shops are full of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths all of which are favourites of mine. The bulbs in my garden are also starting to flower giving a much needed splash of colour.
I’m currently away with three of my friends at a wonderful holiday home Croome Court Stables in Worcestershire for my birthday. The location is beautiful and the house is located in the National Trust grounds. We have had lots of time to relax and of course there has been plenty of laughter. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful friends. The time away has also given me the chance to catch up on my blog.
I have finally finished the hitchhiker shawl (pattern link in King cole zig zag bilberry) that I started last month, I love the colours in it. I only managed to make 40 points on the shawl as I only wanted to use one ball of wool so I suppose it’s not technically a hitchhiker shawl! However, it did win me some goodies from the lovely people at Knitpro Facebook link who chose my photo as their cover picture. I was very happy to receive some double pointed needles, a stitch counter, stitch markers and interchangeable needles !
The pattern is really easy to knit so I’ve started another one this time using West Yorkshire Spinners yarn in Mojito.
As usual I have a few projects on the go, a pair of socks for me in the WYS Pink Flamingo and a crocheted baby blanket using various wool from my stash. I’ve even found the time to make myself a few stitch markers too!
Happy making and baking xx
